The exhibition title, "point, line, plane," can be described from both a geometric perspective and the history of abstract art, as these are the most basic elements that build an image and visual space.
From a geometric perspective, the title refers to the simplest elements that build an image and visual space. In culture and art, especially in geometric abstraction, they constitute the basic language of form, from which artists create complex compositions and meanings.
From an art historical perspective, the title alludes to a theoretical reflection on art, the book "Point and Line and the Plane" by Wassily Kandinsky. In it, the artist analyzed how these elements work visually and emotionally in composition. His theory influenced many artists associated with the Bauhaus, who treated geometry as a universal language of art.
From the perspective of the artistic practices of Discursive Geometry, the exhibition's title can be interpreted as a reference to the way culture and art create meaning through basic visual structures. Point, line, and plane become models for organizing thought and visual communication. A point can symbolize a single idea, event, or sign in cultural space. A line signifies a relationship, continuity, or direction between points (e.g., narrative, the development of thought). A plane creates a field of interpretation in which various elements can coexist and construct meaning. In the perspective of discursive geometry, point, line, and plane become not only elements of composition but also metaphors for the structure of cultural discourse.
